Drama/Speech Curriculum Goals

The goal of the speech and drama curriculum is to meet state goals. Therefore, our program is designed to enable students to:

1- Students will understand and demonstrate the interdependence of an actor’s primary tools- mind, body, and voice.
2- Students will understand and demonstrate the elements of a story- plot, character, theme, setting, conflict, resolution.
3- Students will understand and demonstrate the interdependence and collaborative nature of the acting process—planning, practicing, and performing.
4- Students will analyze and understand how the arts function in and reflect history, society, and everyday life.
